Young Birds 2009

First round

Breeding season 2009 started off with cold weather, freezing temperatures at night. Expectations were not high for the first round. Still we have 5 healthy growing youngsters from the first round. Pictures are there to prove it.

Second round

Second round gave us 13 fertile eggs from 8 pairs, 12 hatched, we lost 3 young chicks for various reasons, the other 9 are alive and well as the pictures show you

Third round

Third round gave us 10 healthy youngesters from 12 fertile eggs of 7 pairs, feeders do a great job, plenty of eggs, so the Holle eggs can be transfered once more

Fourth round

Fourth round. 12 youngsters from 16 eggs. Some crossings that give opportunities to breed even more colourings next year. Offcourse is the form of the birds is good enough!!

Round 5 and 6

Last rounds were to our satisfaction. 2009 gave us 53 banded youngsters from 82 eggs in total. Not a bad score for Holle Croppers!
