| Mark Wilson, November 2008 | ||
November 4th was yet another milestone in our career as pigeon breeders. Mark Wilson and his wife Karen visited us, they took the trouble to travel from France, where they had their holiday. It took them a whole day to get to Leeuwarden, where we picked them up and got acquianted. It was the first time we met, certainly it won't be the last time we will meet. |

It surely is special when people from Australia take the time to visit you, and think highly of your pigeons.
Mark has been breeding Holle Croppers for several years now, one can tell he has a good eye for the breed. He virtually wanted to know anything there is to know about the Holle. He particulairly wanted to know about our view on the breed, our loft mangement, our way of dealing with diseases and lots more. I think there is not one bird in our lofts that wasn't portraited by Mark, on every bird he tried to find out what the strongest and weakest parts were. On top of that he wanted to know why a certain bird was kept, what our purpose was with that one bird. His aim for the visit was clearly to get as much as possible information to take back to Australia to inform the other breeders and to improve the breed to Dutch standards. In the pictures there are some birds from Mark's stud in Australia. |

It was great to meet such nice people. They were interrested in much more than just pigeons. They really made an effort to find out about our way of life, what the problems are in country and offcourse what the benefits are. Karen Wilson is a one in a million that every guy would be proud of to live with. We would like to thank the Wilsons once more for taking the trouble to visit us. We are sure we made some new friends, in the other side of the world, sharing the same passions and interests we have. Here's to a long Friendship! |
